Adobe Illustrator is a tool that allows for the drawing of images. Oftentimes, it is a good idea to create an illustration of a piece of equipment for training purposes. This allows for an easier identification of specific parts of the equipment, which can then be linked to actual photographs of the equipment and performance on such.
The images below were created for training purposes relating to a specific piece of factory equipment at Quad/Graphics’ paper company.
- This is the logo of Quad/Graphics. There was no pre-existing digital image, so one was created so that training could be adequately branded to the company.
- Training for Quad/Graphics involved hooking up the MOT to this computer, then converting it to Manual Mode. Manual Mode was to be used when the computer shut down.
- This image of the Touch Screen computer shows what it should look like after the MOT has been attached and the learner has converted the machine to Manual Mode.
- This diagram illustrates the location of chains and their number designation. These chains, located on the Quad/Graphics’ factory floor, are how large rolls of paper are moved around.
- This picture details the parts of the MOT, the main device for which the training for Quad/Graphics was created. Notes (taken by the illustrator, Alanna) have been placed around the image for the ease of reference of the ID team.
