Articulate is a software that enables the production of training that can respond to and evaluate learner responses. This training can progress on its own according to a set time limit or be asynchronous in nature, progressing at the pace of the learner as they move through.
Using the various parts of the Articulate software, Alanna has worked to create (in the case of Quad/Graphics’ Hazleton, PA branch) and refine (in the case of Muncy PA’s Kellogg’s branch) factory training.
Engage, Presenter and Quizmaker were the main tools used in these cases.
Alanna has also created training for Zerion Software’s iPhone app, “iFormBuilder” using Articulate Storyline.
At the onset of this instructional design project there was no established training method for employees to use to become acquainted with the software. As a result any training that did happen was spotty and inconsistent. While the client did have a wealth of information on their application, none of it was organized in an pedagogically meaningful fashion. As such one of the first tasks in this project was to organize that information into something meaningful.
The client also wanted to use a gaming element. In order to acquiesce to this request and to further motivate the learner the training was styled in a retro-video game aesthetic and rewards the learner as they meet certain learning objectives.
